Parish Activities
Bible & Faith Study
Do you want to read the Bible but don't know where to begin? Or take a new look at Scripture, and go deeper with what you already know? Then our next Bible Study class is for you!
Seasonally, especially through our Lent "Faith Friday" series, we offer faith formation on Friday evenings to learn and grow in our faith.
Watch the bulletin or call the Parish Office for more details on current or upcoming programs.
Society of St. Rita of Cascia
What is it?
It is a group of men and women united to pray for Holy Ghost Parish and for the many special needs that come into the parish from a variety of people and places.
Why St. Rita of Cascia?
Devotion to St. Rita at Holy Ghost dates back to the earliest years of the church. The entryway, built in 1924, incorporated a small statue of St. Rita, and when Helen Bonfils completed the upper church in 1943, a side altar was built dedicated to the saint. St. Rita of Cascia is the patron saint of impossible cases, difficult marriages, and parenthood, and her values of peace-making, healing, and forgiveness are needed every bit as much today as when the saint lived in the 15th century.
Who can join?
Any person who can be connected to the group and to the intentions through email or Flocknotes may join.
Will there be meetings?
Yes, we will have prayer meetings every two months on Saturday mornings as announced in the bulletin and email.
Youth Ministry
The Holy Ghost Youth Ministry provides a hot meal on our sandwich line monthly, and seeks to form authentic Christian friendships to grow in our faith. Various outings like hikes and bowling are also organized. Ages 13-17 welcome. Contact coordinators through the parish office. Fr. Paul moderates this group in conjunction with Dan Aedo and parents of the teens.
Altar Boys and Junior Sacristans
Holy Ghost has a robust group of altar boys who serve at the altar throughout the week. Contact the office for training.
As of Spring 2026, Holy Ghost is introducing a new form of service in the sanctuary for girls. The Junior Sacristans learn how to prepare the books and articles for the Mass and how to take care of them after the conclusion of Mass. This precious work gives the girls more in-depth and hands-on knowledge of the sacred liturgy. Contact the office for training.
Young Adult Group
Thursdays 6:30PM
Join the Amicizia Cristiana (Italian for Christian Friendship) Thursdays in the Church Hall for fellowship, fun and faith. Meetings include discussions of interesting topics, as well as regular game nights and outings. Fr. Jonathon moderates this group together with peer leaders in the group.
Respect Life Ministry
The Holy Ghost Respect Life Ministry organizes pro-life activities with the parish, including Life Around the World, 40 Days for Life in Lent and October, March for Life in April, baby bottle drives, and legislative alerts. For more information, please contact Amanda Mazzuca and the committee at hgrespectlife@gmail.com. You can also join the Flocknote group to stay in the loop.
