Funerals

Funerals at Holy Ghost are celebrated at 10am on any weekday or Saturday the church schedule is open. Exceptions can be made for particular circumstances.

Holy Ghost is here to help all families who have lost loved ones. Funeral Masses are beautiful and prayerful expressions of faith in God. Funeral Masses are an important completion of a Catholic life, and all baptized Catholics, with very few exceptions, are able to have a funeral mass. Families should take for granted that practicing and deceased Catholics would desire a funeral Mass. We are happy to help you honor your loved one's final wishes for a church service. Please call the parish office and speak to a priest if you have any questions in regard to funeral Masses at Holy Ghost.

Please call the parish office with inquiries about particular dates for funeral Masses…or have the funeral home you are working with call Holy Ghost.

Holy Ghost does not charge a set fee for funerals, but offerings are accepted. Parish musicians charge $150 per musician at funerals.

The Church teaches there are three stations or particular moments in a funeral rite, each having a distinct character. These three are:

  • The Vigil Service (Wake, generally at the funeral home)
  • The Funeral Mass (at the church, i.e. Holy Ghost)
  • The Committal Service and burial (at the cemetery)

Holy Ghost will help at any of these stations. Please call the parish office for more information.
